The ASVAB results were gone over with students last Thursday. Students took the personality portion of the test and were then matched with careers. I believe the whole experience was a success. Looking forward to holding this test again next year.
On Friday I had the pleasure of accompanying our esteemed Ag teachers, Karen Jones and Clayton Croman, for the Sierra Cascade Logging Conference. The speakers were incredible, and I learned so much that I hope to share with our students. One of the most interesting things I learned is that forestry has become a science based industry. What an awesome career opportunity to be able to work outdoors in some of the most beautiful scenery and earn a great living! For those that may be interested in programs for Heavy Machinery or Forest Science, please come see me, I have some really helpful information.
Last Wednesday I opened course requests for our incoming Seniors, Juniors, and Sophomores. It seems to be going very well. The portal will remain open until February 14th. Please reach out if you have any questions!
Course Requests for the incoming 8th graders will start on Tuesday, February 11th. This portal will remain open until the 28th of February. I am hoping this gives MMS students and parents a chance to choose courses together.
The Santa Rosa Junior College presentation went extremely well! We had over 40 students in attendance and the reviews from the students were excellent.
On February 6th at 9:45 am in the Tallman Gym we will be going over the ASVAB and working on the career portion of the test. Very excited to see what students learn!
